Jack's Lawn Service, Inc. was created by John William Sturn. John, also known as Jack . He was born and raised in Monroe, MI and attends St. Mary's Catholic Church. He is the middle son of Warren J. and Mary T. (Rappold) Sturn. Jack is married to the former Christina M. Phillips and has three children. All three of his children are involved within the business, along with his mother and his sister. His father helped out prior to his death. He is a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Michigan Green Industry Association and Michigan Nursery and Landscaping Association, Monroe County Chamber of Commerce and the Michigan Composting Council.
Jack started off at the early age of 12 with one mower and a bicycle. After graduating from Monroe High School in 1973 he went to work at the Monroe Ford Motor company for a short period of time, but decided working on a production line was not for him. He quit and created Jack's Lawn Service, Inc. in February of 1977. Working out of an old Quonset hut behind Pete's Ice house on Front St. which is now Farmer Jack's. Jack's Lawn Service, Inc. grew and more room was needed. JLS moved to its current location in 1986, 5550 East Dunbar Road, Monroe, MI 48161. Since our location has so many businesses within the complex Civil Preparedness changed our address in 2003 to 15550 Garden Stone Drive in case of an emergency.
Jack's Lawn Service, Inc. has completed it's new addition. This addition houses a new power equipment showroom, along with new offices.
